New friend = Brobee.

Muno the cyclops is officially out. Brobee the long-armed, three-horned monster is in. For now.

Lil heartbreaker.

We never got around to posting these over V-Day, so here are some belated pics of our little cuddlebug. These also happen to be the first pics of Owen sitting up on his own. Thanks Grandma R for the sweet outfit and puppy!

7 months. (behind the scenes)

As other parents can attest, we go to ridiculous lengths (lows?) to "get the perfect shot." For whatever reason, Katie decided to take some video of Daddy actin' a fool in order to make Owen laugh for his 7-month photos. It'll probably get annoying after the first listen, but I thought it'd be funny to post a "director's cut" extra on the blog. So dumb.

7 months.

Owen is growing so big these days, now at the 7-month mark. He's sitting up on his own every day, and eating every baby food that comes in his path. This guy is NOT a picky eater. Heck, he even likes prunes. And he's recently become the "drool factory"-- so we think O is getting some teeth soon.

Our little rocker.

I've been traveling the last couple of weeks for work finishing a commercial --L.A. then S.F.-- and am looking forward to being back in "the land of sky blue waters" (actually, I think that's a slogan from a Hamm's beer commercial). Anywho, here's a photo that Katie sent me while I was away. Rock on, my little Hendrix. Rock on.

Jump around.

The Rainforest Jumperoo. As ugly and plastic-y as this thing looks, it's one of the best purchases we've ever made. And it's definitely Owen's latest obsession. The kid can't get enough of it. What's funny is that his feet barely touch the floor, so we have to stuff a blanket under his toes when he's in it. Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy!

What are you gonna do with those toes?

If I'm Owen, I'm going to stick those toes where the bottle always goes. In my mouth, of course.

Guys night.

The last couple of Friday nights, Katie had plans to go out with friends. When this happens, it's what Owen and I like to call "Guys' Night" at the Robertson household. Total debauchery. Beer bottles, broken Doritos and pizza boxes strewn everywhere. Just like dudes do. You know how it goes.
We like to pretend it's crazy but really it's just us hanging out and playing until Owen poops out at about 7:30 pm. Good times. Here are pics from the last couple Guys' Nights.

Meet The Captain.

When dropping off O at daycare last week, I said to his teacher: "Is it okay if I bring a different baby here today instead of Owen?"
She looked at me like a crazy man.
"...because today I brought The Captain in to see you. Oh yeah, Owen is just his alter ego." His teacher and the other ladies laughed, so now we have a running gag about The Captain...

Aarrrgh, matey.

Last weekend we scooted over to the Webers' place for a post-New Years get-together. It's so much fun having them back in town for good now. You may remember their home as the site of the infamous bling post. Well, it was dress up time once again. This time it was the pirate look for Owen's pal Lucy. Our little pirate was snoozin or we would've dressed him up as well. I know, we're awfully mean parents.

What a week.

This week was a crazy one at work, what with all the layoffs and such. Katie and I feel fortunate to still have jobs as the cuts were mainly outside of Marketing. Our hearts go out to all who were not so lucky. Thanks to all who wrote, texted and phoned us to check in. The Robertsons are surviving okay, but all we can do is work hard and try not to think about it.
