To be continued...

The Robertson Three are heading to St. Louis for the Turkey Day holiday and are pushing "pause" on the old blog machine for a few days. Look for fun-filled posts next week while you're recovering from your turkey and stuffing overdose. Enjoy the holiday. Gobble, gobble.

Baby bird in its nest.

Recently, I caught Mama Bird crashed out on the couch with the little man. It was cute. Like, blog-worthy cute. And she's totally going to be annoyed that I posted this. Oh well. Ha ha, you snooze you lose (veto power).

Think green.

Before going to work the other day, we captured this shot of big boy wearing a new "Think Green" shirt that T's boss got him. Super cute and hippy'd out.

Speaking of big boy, I just realized that Owen has more nicknames than you can shake a Spork at. For those of you keeping score at home, here's our running list of monikers:
  1. Big boy.
  2. Our little Oompa Loompa.
  3. O.Robs.
  4. O-Max.
  5. Sir Owen.
  6. Prince Owen.
  7. Little man.
  8. The big guy.
  9. Owen Ali (only while donning gold chain).
  10. The Kicky Schroders' Tiniest Mascot.
  11. Buddy Boy.
  12. Boodle.
  13. "O".
  14. Little O.
  15. Mr. Owen.
  16. Our little roly poly.

Wake up and play.

On the weekends, Travis has been waking up first and taking Owen in the living room to play so I can sleep in a bit longer. Oh, how I love my husband and how amazingly thoughtful he is. What a phenomenal man. He's so caring and handsome and...ok, I can't go on. But for a second there it was fun to pretend like Katie was posting on the blog. Anyway, the first part is true. And Owen and I have had a fun time lately with our goofy, morning playtime. Team Ramsey gave us this super awesome Ernie puppet and I have to confess that I'm not too proud to act-a-fool in the A.M. Owen gets a kick out of Ernie right when he sees him. He gets big eyes and giggles like only a baby can.
P.S. Ever tried to make a baby laugh and take a picture with your left hand while wearing a puppet on your right hand? Mad skillz.
P.P.S. Check out the righteous "Chick Magnet" shirt that my cousin Heather sent us. Fitting, for sure.

Can I get an amen?

You know how it goes. You're hanging out at a friend's house and the subject inevitably arises: "Who do you think Owen looks like? You or Katie?" For a while now (perhaps since O's birth) I've said over and over that he looks more like me. Some people are convinced that the little man looks like his Mommy. Sure, he's got her chin, but the kid is definitely more like his Dad. The other day, when I was going through old photo albums, I found proof. Here it is. You decide. -T

Rockin' first date night.

For once, here's a post that's not directly related to Prince Owen. Ok, maybe a little. We finally got out of the house (without O) for our first date night in 4 months! We met up with friends at POP in St. Paul for drinks/dinner, then hit the Xcel Center to see Coldplay. We had seen the band at Target Center a year or so ago and they were excellent. This time lived up to our expectations as well. There were big orb-like TV screens, confetti butterflies dropped from the ceiling, a surprise 2-song set "in" the upper level amongst fans. And of course, the music. The vibe was great and we were loving having an Owensitter (thanks Claudette!).

Kickball ends.

Welp, the kickball season has officially come to a close. The Kicky Schroders, in its 6th year, finished the St. Louis Park Adult Co-Rec League with an underwhelming record of 2 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie. The good news is we enjoyed a small amount of exercise, a dozen or so baskets of Park Tavern tator tots and countless doses of "fellowship shared" not to mention beer pitchers. Good fun, as always, and our tiniest mascot Owen was there at every game.

Hip hop battle.

So Nick Weber made the comment that "Owen looks like rapper, Brother Ali." You decide...

Owen Ali.

Brother Ali.

Straight pimpin.

Owen is a pimp. And I mean that in the kindest way. He gets sooo many ladies oohing and ahhing over him everywhere he goes-- and he's only 3 months old. But a couple weeks ago, Owen had a run for his money with young Benjamin Weber. While sitting at his gangsta table, among a bevy of LEGOS, Benjamin sported the "Bling Bling" gold chain and sipped from his ceremonial pimp cup (for soda, that is). As always, it was a pleasure hanging out with the Webers and the Hopkins. Check out Owen and Lucy Kate sporting the "Bling" chain as well. -T

Stuffed animal.

Yesterday, we visited some ol' friends of ours (the Bjerkes) out in Buffalo, MN. We watched the Vikes eek out a victory over the Packers. And besides that show, we got to see Ella and her friend surround Owen in a field of girly plush things. I have to admit, it made for a good picture--even if O had no idea what was happening. He seemed to have a great time playing with Ella and her friend, and getting lots of attention from the adults as well. We had a blast catching up. Thanks Joel & Nichole for the super hospitality! -T

E.C.F.E.

For the last three weeks, Team Robertson has been attending ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) classes down the road at Deephaven. For the first class, Owen decided to snooze the whole time. Zzzzz... But the second week, the little guy joined the party. We talked with other new parents, sang songs and even made crafts using O's footprint and googly eyes.

Happy (belated) H-ween.

For his first Halloween, we dressed Owen up in a simple, orange, onesie ensemble. Nothing too over-the-top since he's only three months. Next year though, look out. He'll definitely be rockin' some big furry, plush number.

Three months.

Wow, time flies. Can you believe it's been over 3 months already since Owen was born? He's got Miracle Grow in his blood or something because this kid is outgrowing his clothes every time we look. Already, O is wearing 6-month clothes! He growing "up" and "out", becoming both tall and tubby for his age. We love our little roly poly. Take a look at these pics we took about a week and a half ago.

Thumbs up.

Lately, O has been all about putting things in his mouth, namely, his thumb. The kid will probably need braces later in life from all this thumb-sucking, but it sure looks cute right now.
