Groovy group photo.

Tell me this isn't the grooviest family you've ever seen. My cousin Kelly emailed me this photo and it brought a big smile to my face. I couldn't help but compare it to my other favorite family photo, also shown below. Thanks Kel!
P.S. Doesn't that little boy in the top row look like someone you know? Here's a hint: his name rhymes with "Row-inn."

Three musketeers.

Funny how we take TONS and TONS of photos of big boy, and rarely any of the three of us as a fam. While at the Langers' house over Christmas, we did the whole posed family photo thing-- and I'm glad we did. It's nice to have the band back together once in a while. Hope your holiday was splendid. We had a nice time hanging at K's parents house and catching up with Team Schulz (K's sister's family) as well as many, many aunts, uncles and cousins (too many to name here). Feliz navidad. Don't know why I said that, but it just sounded fun.

Wakey, wakey.

Each morning, once Owen is dressed for school, we usually set him back in his crib so we can finish getting ready for work. Meanwhile, little man is always talking up a storm in his crib. He cackles at his fake aquarium, howls at his sheep mobile and jibber-jabbers at his Mom and Dad once they leave the room. Here's him looking innocent-- in between those lovable antics.

Owen showing off.

Since we'll likely be busy on Dec 26th and unable to post, I thought I'd do a pre-scheduled post about one of O's favorite new tricks. The two-handed bottle clutch. Who needs Mom or Dad, when he can hold his bottle up just fine by himself?
All of the sudden, our little guy is Mr. Independent.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Much love, peace and happiness in 2009.

Going to see Santa.

On Sunday, we took Owen for his first (of probably many) trips to see the man in red. For this Christmas Eve post, I thought I'd just share the moments leading up to the big meeting with ol' Saint Nick. Who knew Southdale could be so bizarro?

So we get in line.
And the first thing we see is a giant ape holding a baby ape. Why? Good question.
(And no, I'm not making some joke about Katie and Owen. You're naughty.)

Hey kids, how many days til Christmas?!
Here, ask the orangutan in the J. Crew sweater.

Perhaps you would like some fresh baked cookies from a kangaroo-- wearing a wig...

"So Ronnie, I got this idea for the North Pole thing at Southdale Mall.
We can put a baby panda in one chair. Wearing a chef's hat.
Then in the other chair, we put this baby lamb. Wearing headphones."
Brilliant.

Mama and O-Robs waiting to see the Man.

Lights! Look! Lights I can touch!

Playing catch up.

I was gone all last week away on business in L.A. and S.F. so the blog-o-matic shut down for a bit. Katie had every good intention of getting some posts going, but being a single Mom is no picnic to say the least. Of course, Katie was a rock star. And despite working all week, caring for Owen into the wee hours of the night, and doing everything else around Casa Robertson; she still managed to capture these photos-- some of my favorites. -T

Christmas is coming.

A little while ago, we captured Owen in another light-gazing moment in front of the Christmas tree at the Langers' house. Ahh, lights. Since it's not quite the 25th, I'll wait to break out the really spirited photos. But these might get you in the fa la la mood...

Hello Noah.

The Robertson Three made a visit to Sadie and Joel in the hospital today to take a gander at the newest addition to their family: Noah Joseph. Check out the hair on that lil' fella! So darn cute. And definitely in good, loving hands. Congratulations you guys! You did good.

Meet Muno.

So, to finish my thought...there's a new Cyclops making an appearance in the Robertson household in a big, BIG way. His name is Muno (moon-oh). And this orange, spongy spyclops hails from the Nickelodeon show, "Yo Gabba Gabba." The show itself is trippy and fun and you should check it out if you want to feel like you just took some very experimental drugs. A guy I know worked on the original launch of the show, so I happened to pick up the Muno plush toy when O and I were scooting through the toy section the other day at Target (aka "The Company Store"). Needless to say...Owen's eyes lit up...Daddy made the $7 splurge...couldn't resist...end of story. Check out Muno being devoured by  O-no. Rarrgh!

Famous Cyclops in history.

If you really take a sec to think about it, there have been a bunch of famous Cyclops throughout history. There's the old school, Greek Odyssey Cyclops. And the comic book Cyclops. And uh, wasn't R2D2 an outer space, robo-Cyclops? Anywho, you get the point, I've seen a lot of 'em in my day. And they're all pretty diverse creatures-- all with the single peeper.
Maybe you're asking yourself: "Self, what does this have to do with Owen's baby blog?" Well, I can explain more tomorrow. Gotta run now.

Hangin' with the Smillie kids.

Here's another long overdue (but oh so worthy) post. About a month ago Owen had a 2 vs. 1 playdate battle royale with the Smillie twins. Niko was chillaxed in his little play-station-thing most of the time while sis, Addie, jumped all over the place next to Owen in the bouncy swings. Since the twins are a bit older than Owen, his mind was officially blown by all the major activity happening around him. It was good for O-Max, to see how those 11-month-olds roll. Or in this case, hop.
On another note, it was nice for us adults to have big people conversations. Which, strangely enough, was all about our kids. Go figure. Fun times for all, nonetheless.

Four months.

We are a tad late getting O's 4-month pics posted up on the blog, but I have to say, you've been so very patient. Our tiny tadpole is growing into a full-blown frog with each ticking month. We guesstimate his weight to be approaching 20 lbs, and we think O-Max's legs are stretching longer to help minimize his roly-poly-ness. Maybe soon we'll start giving him solid foods. You know, like Burger King and stuff. Oh quit it, I'm kidding.

Holiday shindig.

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of attending a get-together of kid-tastic proportions with T's ol' high school friends. Joel and Jill sure put on a stellar shindig! The food and conversation were excellent, as expected. Also, we got the pleasure of meeting Chris and Susan's new baby Ethan as well as seeing baby Chase and many more kiddos: Reagan, Ella, Olivia, Charlie and Jack. So good to see everyone, it makes us want to move back there (ok, just for a second anyway). Gotta run now, and shovel our damn driveway. :)

Wanna play?

Something we recently learned at ECFE was "Play is like work for babies." It's true. Owen loves to play, play, play. Then nap. Then repeat the whole process all day long with a few mealtimes thrown in for good measure. The great part about visiting everyone in St. Louis last week was all the new playmates O-Max instantly befriended. Yep, here are some action shots...
