Happy Friday everyone.

It's the happiest day of the work week, "the ender" as we say here in the land o' cubicles. Enjoy this contagious explosion of cuteness and smile it up. You've had a long week...
Who doesn't love a squirrel sipping a soft drink? Pure genius.A good friend of ours (who won't be out-ed here) actually does this thing as shown below. He/she lets the dog eat his/her ice cream cone then proceeds to continue licking said cone. Narsty.Last but not least...a bird...

Mama bird.

You asked for it, so... here's the Mama Bird at 21 weeks. Baby boy is growing and so is the 'bump'.

Fruit-o-Meter #8.

We're starting week 21 and here's the latest update: "Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is about 10-1/2" long-- the length of a carrot. Your baby is really on the move now. Fetal researchers say babies move about 50 times an hour even while sleeping. All that movement helps stimulate your baby's physical and mental development." Katie can attest to this one, feeling lots of 'flutters' throughout the day in her tummy. Random thought, but don't carrots look funny without that bushy/leafy thing coming out the end? Kind of nasty lookin'.

Good people.

The outpouring of generosity and thoughtfulness of friends and family has been amazing lately. The Halburs surprised us with our first kids' books: 3 board books that are soooooo cool (Travis has already been reading them to my baby belly). And Dianne Rubinstein knitted this phenomenal blanket for us! We can't stop looking at it. Truly awesome.

We got stripes.

My sister was in town on Thur so we got together for dinner and caught up on life. She also surprised us with this fun little outfit for Baby. But someone needs to tell Katie that the outfit doesn't go on the baby until he comes out of her belly. -T

Bless you.

After 20.21, we also made a road trip to Springfield, IL last weekend for my niece/Goddaughter's confirmation. It was a wonderful service and Heather (my sister's daughter) was really excited to have us come down for the visit. The trip included a 10 hour drive (each way) with my parents and great fellowship with the 3 girls, Terri, Jon, Jon's family and my Aunt Renae/family. The girls are growing up so big and strong, lots of laughs were had. Thanks for the great trip!

Sew it goes.

Pun intended. Katie has been putting her sewing machine to good use lately working on these very rockin' curtains for my man-den. Since the baby's nursery has taken over my old office space, we're sprucing up the office/man-den. More pics to come once the room is more presentable.

Yum.

There's been so much happening lately that we're a bit behind on our many posts. Last Friday (the day of finding out the baby's gender), Travis surprised me with dinner reservations to 20.21, the restaurant at the Walker (and only my favorite restaurant ever). After enjoying our dinner, we requested the sorbet dessert and was yet again thrilled that 20.21 pulled through for us with a sweet "congratulations" message on the plate. We also had some other exciting news - Travis received a promotion! He is a creative manager for the copywriters within a new agency at Target. Both baby and I are so proud of Travis. He's so deserving of this new job. Congratulations babe!

Food. Fun. Friends.

Good times were had on Tue night as we went out w/ some friends to celebrate Megan's b-day at Campiello. There's a detailed post on Sadie & Joel's blog so just point your fancy cursor to this little spot right here.

Fruit-o-Meter #7.

It's Thursday and you know what that means, friends. It's your beloved Fruit-o-Meter! This 7th installment brings us to one of my favorite fruits. Now for the words of Babycenter at this, our 20th week..."Your baby weighs about 10-1/2 ounces now. He's around 6-1/2 inches long from head to heel-- the length of a banana."   -T

Oldie, but goodie.

We totally spaced and forgot to blog about our awesome night w/ Jee & Chris. So here's the link to our evening's exploits.

WTF?

So I received this link today regarding these movie poster/baby announcements and I had to share. Just makes you wonder...cool or lame? I'm thinking it's a little lame, but you be the judge. For more 'wildly creative' samples, click here. -T

Happy inside.

Ah yes, and for all you curious folk out there we decided to keep the pics of Baby R's 'naughty' pictures private. We thought he would appreciate that one day. Let's just say that it's pretty much a guarantee that he's a strappin' Boy!

Boy wonder!

Well, we just got back from our Ultrasound and discovered we're having a bouncing, baby boy! He's squirming around great, strong arms and legs and has all his toes and fingers. Baby R was sucking his thumb and stretching his legs like he was lounging in a La-Z-Boy. Our doctor had never seen a baby tapping his foot so much, as if to say "I'm ready to run, let me out of here you guys!" It was pretty funny. Look for pics of the little guy early next week.
As for names, Travis has been creating a list of names but nothing in mind yet. We're open to suggestions, but will be keeping our name choices hush-hush until the b-day. Thanks for checking into the blog today.

Fruit-o-Meter #6.

This week's news flash at 19 weeks: "Your baby weighs about 8-1/2 ounces, and he measure 6 inches, head to bottom-- about the size of a large heirloom tomato. The hair on his scalp is sprouting. If your baby is a girl, she already has 6 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch. He may be able to hear you as you talk." Thanks for reading. Only 2 more days until we find out the gender!

Mama bird's chair.

Here's the glider chair we ordered for rocking/gliding the baby. Ours will be this color with a gray pillow and we get to pick it up this weekend. Weeeeee!

The countdown begins...

We're just 9 short days from finding out the gender of Baby R. Will it be a boy? Or will it be a girl? Perhaps a tiny, genderless leprechaun? If you're curious, be sure to check the blog next Friday (March 14th) and we'll let everyone know the scoop. (I'm still convinced it's going to be a boy.) -T

Fruit-o-Meter #5.

For our veggie-lovin' friends out there, you're in luck for the 2nd week in a row. Here's this week's update: "Head to bottom, your baby is approximately 5-1/2 inches long, weighing almost 7 ounces (about the length of a bell pepper). She's busy flexing her arms and legs-- movements that you'll likely start noticing more and more."

Baby's haven.

We had a busy weekend as you can already probably tell. Besides whoopin' it up, we spent Sunday moving the office stuff to its new location to make way for Baby. Katie had made the curtains a while back, but we always knew they'd look hip whether this room stayed our office or became the baby's room. So with the room empty, K made patterns from scraps of wrapping paper so we'd know how big the furniture would be, and where everything might go. It was fun to slide these sheets around the floor and figure it out together. To the left will go the glider chair. Straight ahead will be the crib. To the right will be the dresser. We'll post pics of the furniture sometime this week.

Double Yeah!

Tonight we went out with our friends Kristen & Will (you might remember Kristen from the Katrav post). We started out at a dive bar (seems to be the theme of the weekend) called Sandy's in Richfield. From there, we did dinner at Cafe Maude just up the street and had an awesome time as usual. We used funny words like "behoove" and "conjecture" for no apparent reason. "Behoove Robertson"? Could be a keeper.
Side note: doesn't Will's hand look scary big? Don't worry, he's a peaceful man.
